Happy Valentine's Day!

Much like the days on my countdown app have been decreasing, so have the number of hours of sleep I get per night. My excitement is really just off the charts at this point! Anyway, here is my Valentine's day update:

Recently, I have been leaving my mostly empty suitcases open on the floor so I can walk by and throw a few items in every now and then. This strategy hasn't gotten me too far yet but it's certainly better than nothing!

As far as school goes, I have been arriving around 11:00 each day and spending a majority of my time working on my Spanish vocabulary. Honesty, the past few days have mostly been spent socializing and eating junk food but I like to tell myself that it's part of the experience.

After a year of filling out applications, writing scholarship essays, convincing my parents to let me leave, calculating school credits, and translating travel documents; I have only recently come to realize that the most difficult part of the AFS experience is saying good-bye (this opinion is subject to change later but for now it definitely holds true). Only by leaving have I realized how fortunate I am to have so many wonderful people in my life. I appreciate everyone's support!!

And now to end this very sentimental Valentine's day post, here are some pictures from my recent going away parties:

Hello! I have decided that a few weeks before my departure seems like an appropriate time to make my first post. As shown in my title (above), I have about 12 days until my departure for Melo, Uruguay!! In preparation for my trip, I have been creating packing lists (as a way to procrastinate), brushing up on my Spanish, party planning, and creating 15 different blogs to see which site I liked the most. Looks like Blogger won! And now I will end my first official post with a picture of the Uruguayan flag. Enjoy!

Please feel free to ask questions and leave comments!
